Welcome To The Jungle

It's been the strangest of summers for me this year. Whilst the weather has been generally lovely and I've had lots of fun things to do, I have really struggled to connect with my work. Reflecting on this with friends and advisors, I came to the realisation that being out of the structure and camaraderie of art school, I've been feeling exposed. It seems somehow more personal and visceral to share work that I've originated and produced entirely by myself, for myself.

So, let's get over that shall we? It's time to get vocal and roar about what I'm working on and what is next.

The Jungle collection of original mini paintings came back from the gallery at The Saltburn Framing Company a couple of months ago, and it is now time to tell you about them! The collection features eight individual paintings (one sold) and three diptychs, designed to be hung horizontally in pairs. They are inspired by travel and feature delicious layers of chunky acrylic paint, bold motifs and occasional sparkles, designed to act as a bright focal point in your room.

The Baltic Open Exhibition has been extended to September 30th, so there is still time to get along to Newcastle if you would like to see my piece Safe Harbour at the ground floor exhibition there.

Starting this month, I will be creating some large abstract works that strip back my process and style to pure expression and I absolutely cannot wait to get started. As always, if you're interested in discussing commission work then I'd love to hear from you.
