A group, curated exhibition in response to the open-call brief “Abstract Tangles”.
We invite artists from around the world, across diverse mediums and artistic approaches, to submit their interpretations of the theme "Abstract Tangles." Delve into the depths of your creative minds and explore the captivating intricacies of abstract art. Whether through vibrant paintings, intricate sculptures, experimental installations, or innovative digital creations, we encourage you to portray your thoughts, emotions, and perspectives on the enigmatic concept of tangles in an abstract context.
In response to the theme, Nichola submitted two pieces, Strike (Acrylic on Canvas, 2022, Northern School of Art, Hartlepool) and Challenger (Acrylic on Canvas, 2022, Northern School of Art, Hartlepool. These pieces explore the total remembered experience of events witnessed in early childhood and express all that the artist can recall, from sights, sounds, smells and emotions in a painted version of what neuroscience refers to as an "engram".
The chosen pieces will be available to view and buy on Cista Arts channels throughout August 2023.
